A delegation from the Dutch parliament pays tribute to the victims of Srebrenica genocide

SREBRENICA, March 27 (FENA) – Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Dutch Parliament, including Committee Chairwoman Attja Kuiken, Ruben Berkelmans, Jan Paternotte, Jasper van Dijk and Katie Piri, together with Dutch Ambassador to BiH Jan Waltmans, visited the Srebrenica Memorial Center on Saturday.

After paying tribute to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide and visiting the cemetery, they met with mothers and representatives of women’s associations.

During a full-day visit to the Memorial Center, together with the director of the Center Emir Suljagić, they visited all museum exhibits, including the latest exhibitions – ‘Steps of those who did (not) make it’ and ‘Lives behind the field of death’, through which they could see all the dimensions and consequences of the Srebrenica genocide.

“Visits of officials to the Memorial Center, both domestic and foreign like today, are of great importance because our goal is to talk as much as possible about the genocide in public at a time when it is denied and the pain of survivors is increasingly neglected,” said the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
