BIHAĆ, May 14 (FENA) – The Police Administration of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) and the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that one person was killed during the night while trying to enter illegally into the temporary reception center Miral in Velika Kladuša, and that everything points to an accidence.
“Around midnight, the security guards informed the on-duty team at the Velika Kladuša Police Station that they found a lifeless body while visiting the area around the center. A coroner went to the scene immediately together with the police officers and stated that there were no signs of violent death on the body.
It was established that the person tried to smuggle into the camp and that he accidentally lost his life while crawling through the fence. The cause of death was most likely suffocation,” said the head of the Una-Sana Canton Criminal Police Sector, Snježana Galić.
The USC Prosecutor’s Office was able to quickly identify the person, and it was determined that he was a Moroccan citizen.
“The unfortunate victim was subsequently identified, and another migrant confirmed that the person who died was a 28-year-old Moroccan citizen. The prosecution immediately informed the Moroccan embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and indirectly the family of the victim,” said the USC Prosecutor Irena Marjanovic Čavkić.
