Dedić and Nedera: Cooperation with UNDP on agriculture projects in FBiH

SARAJEVO, April 19 (FENA) – The FBiH Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Šemsudin Dedić talked today with the UNDP representatives in BiH about the possibilities of improving and expanding the existing cooperation and activities in the field of water management services.

At the meeting, UNDP Resident Representative Steliana Nedera pointed out that UNDP helps businesses and farmers in BiH through various projects, referring especially to the EU4BUSINESS and EU4AGRI projects.

The goal of the EU4AGRI project is to modernize the agri-food sector and stimulate the rural economy in BiH.

The project is worth 20.25m euros and is funded by the European Union with 20m euros, co-financed with 250,000 euros and implemented by UNDP and the Czech Development Agency.

The EU4AGRI project includes components of grant investment and technical assistance.

“Our intention is to continue to implement projects in the field of agriculture and food industry and to continue the good cooperation with the FBiH Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry,” said Nedera.

The collocutors also discussed projects for the improvement of water services in the territory of the Federation of BiH, and as Nedera emphasized, UNDP is ready to provide support.

Minister Dedić reminded that UNDP has implemented numerous projects and thus significantly contributed to the improvement of socio-economic conditions in BiH.

“The FBiH Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry is a partner in the EU4AGRI project. In the coming period, we will offer more active participation in the work of project groups and in that way help the realization of this project even better. Our cooperation with UNDP in the coming period will expand in the water sector,” said Minister Dedić.
