Džaferović: BiH and Iran have no outstanding issues

SARAJEVO, September 28 (FENA) – Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received today a letter of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gholamreza Alimohammad Ghelichkhan.

Džaferović expressed gratitude to Iran for the help and support to BiH, emphasizing that the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran are an example of friendly ties and cooperation.

He also expressed satisfaction with good political relations, as well as the fact that there are no oustanding issues between the two countries.

They also discussed the current situation in the world caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with special emphasis on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran.

They pointed out that the pandemic affected all countries of the world, took a large number of lives, but also seriously disrupted trade and economic relations and exchange between countries.

The two officials emphasized that Iran and BiH should consider the possibility of increasing the level of economic exchange.

Ambassador Ghelichkhan said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported and will continue to support the stability, integrity and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He added that the relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust and respect, common interests and cooperation in order to create a better future for the citizens of both countries.

Ambassador Ghelichkhan conveyed to Chairman Džaferović the greetings of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his wishes to improve relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated the BiH Presidency said.
