SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) – On the occasion of media speculations stemming from the appointment of a new FBiH Civil Protection Service Crisis Staff and the given reason that the previous staff “failed to respond to tasks such as procurement of medical equipment”, Commander of the FBiH Civil Protection Service Crisis Staff and FBiH Finance Minister Jelka Milićević strongly condemned the attempts to misinform the public and claims that she was the reason that certain decisions have been made late or have been postponed at the expense of the health of citizens.
“At no point, in any way, have I, or will I block the procurement of tests for coronavirus or any other healthcare equipment. I demand only that in this crisis situation, the medical profession and the Institute of Public Health give the final say how many and what kinds of tests and medical equipment are procured and they must be listened to,” said Milićević.
As one of the proofs that the blockade did not exist, the Decision on the procurement of materials and equipment of March 20, 2020, has been made available to the public from which it is evident that 1,386,600.00 iKM has been approved for the purchase of 30,000 pieces of Cov 2019 detection tests, which are expected to arrive as early as tomorrow.
“I do not want to dwell on the reasons for the dismissal of the previous convocation of the Crisis Staff. There will be time for that, but the public must know that the FBiH Government has adopted all its reports on the activities taken and the implementation of measures at all levels,” said the Commander of the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff, emphasizing that the funds in the budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the fight against coronavirus have been secured without any doubt.
