Obuća: We want to prevent further transmission of virus in BPC Goražde

SARAJEVO, August 10 (FENA) – The Prime Minister of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Goražde, Aida Obuća, stated today in Sarajevo that this canton cannot say it has a good epidemiological situation because they have a large number of infected patients in relation to the population and a high mortality rate.

“During the natural disaster in the Federation of BiH, BPC Goražde was one of the cantons that successfully fought Covid-19, but the cessation of the state of natural disaster caused the spread of the pandemic, as in the whole Federation, as well as the BPK. So far, eight people have died at the Clinical Center in Sarajevo, as well as two wards of the Home for the Elderly, who were infected with Covid-19,” said Obuća.

All of this, she added, prompted them, in addition to the measures adopted by the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health, to issue more restrictive measures at the cantonal level in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“When it comes to gatherings, we have limited the number to 20 people indoors and 50 outdoors. Also, the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of our canton banned the consumption of hookah in bars, and we have temporarily banned serological testing unless doctors prescribe it as necessary,” said Obuća.

After the meeting at the seat of the Government of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo, where the current situation was discussed, and further activities to prevent the spread of Covid-19, Obuća said that it was an opportunity to highlight the specifics and problems in each canton and what they did to prevent the spread of this disease.
