SARAJEVO, September 6 (FENA) – Consultations are currently underway at all levels of government to establish a legal framework for the digital certification system in Bosnia and Herzegovina to facilitate the free movement of citizens during the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, this was confirmed today to FENA at the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, explaining that the consultations are conducted with the coordination from that ministry, with the participation of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA).
“All of this is done in order to make an effective contribution to the gradual abolition of restrictions while achieving the protection of public health,” it was explained in the response.
However, this process has not yet been completed, but it can realistically be expected that, after establishing the legal framework for the system for issuing Covid Green Certificates for BiH citizens, it could be implemented throughout the country within the next 60 days.
A meeting was held on this issue on June 22 with the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, and BiH was presented with the conditions that must be met by each non-EU country (including BiH) for the national Covid-19 certificates to be recognized within the EU.
