VIENNA, March 27 (FENA) – The “Diaspora stands with Bosnia and Herzegovina” event was held in the Austrian capital Vienna on Saturday, attended by Bakir Izetbegović, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a special guest.
Addressing the guests, Izetbegović said that the goal of the visit was to strengthen ties between the motherland of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its diaspora.
“BiH has had huge problems and a burden that is wholesome, even for some of the more developed countries. We took care of ourselves, just like you. It is time to strengthen our ties, to work together on the progress of our homeland. We have to do more for you and you have to do more for the homeland,” said Izetbegović.
Izetbegović emphasized the need to create a system governed by the rule of law in BiH as a precondition for the return of the diaspora.
“BiH has 50,000 kilometers of clean rivers, streams, forests, lakes, various minerals. We also have the opportunity to strongly develop tourism, which has blossomed in recent years. The chances are there, and you are also ready for it. We need to build infrastructure that will connect our cities. We must also invest in renewable energy sources, food production. We will help you with that. We are here to be a link for you to invest in your country,” said Izetbegović.
