TIRANA, June 10 (FENA) – The Western Balkans Summit is taking place today in Tirana, with the participation of the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi, as well as representatives of Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the summit of the leaders of the Western Balkans “is a clear sign of our readiness to take over the regional authorship of the economic and investment plan, ATA agency reports.
In his introductory speech at the summit, Rama stressed that “your participation in this summit of the Western Balkans six (WB6) in Tirana is a clear sign of our readiness to take over the regional authorship of the economic and investment plan for the Western Balkans and the common regional market.”
The Albanian Prime Minister expressed gratitude to EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varheyli for launching and promoting a major economic and investment plan for the common regional market.
“I am grateful to the EU Commissioner for initiating and promoting this grand plan as a key instrument to help us recover economically in the post-pandemic era, work on socio-economic resilience, help us move towards sustainable growth, take action towards and green and digital transformation of our economies,” said Prime Minister Rama, ATA reports.
