SARAJEVO, December 15 (FENA) – The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided to support the tourism sector together with transport, industry, agriculture with a fairly large amount of 30 million KM, which was decided at today’s session, said the FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Đapo at a press conference in Sarajevo.
The tourism sector has suffered the greatest consequences in the circumstances of the pandemic, not only in BiH but throughout the world. In our country, as Đapo added, hotels and tourist agencies were not banned from operating during the lockdown, but in many cantons, they did not receive any assistance, and the only assistance most received from the FBiH government was based on the ‘corona law’.
“The Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism received 415 applications for a public call for financial assistance to business entities from the tourism and hospitality sector in the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, and 340 business entities received assistance,” said Đapo.
Assistance was received by business entities in all cantons, and the most significant funds are realized in the Sarajevo Canton (15 million KM), HNC (six million KM), USC (2.5 million KM), Tuzla Canton (two million KM), etc. All this information will be available on the website of the Ministry, said Đapo.
The assistance was received by business entities and is intended for salaries and business expenses from July 1 to December 31 this year.
