SARAJEVO, September 17 (FENA) – Representatives of about 80 companies from the tourism sector from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia will participate in the international conference “Sustainable Tourism”, which will be held in Sarajevo on September 25-26.
At a press conference held today at the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber in Sarajevo, it was announced that the aim of the conference was to strengthen the ties between the two countries in the field of tourism, networking of the tourism sector and public institutions, and the search for new business opportunities and cooperation.
Slovenian Ambassador to BiH Zorica Bukinac said the two countries signed a Memorandum of Co-operation in the field of tourism in October 2016, but in the meantime, cooperation has not been intensified as expected.
“I believe that organizing this conference on World Tourism Day is the best way to mark the day and strengthen the cooperation of the two countries in the field of tourism,” said Bukinac.
Vice-President of the FTC BiH Vjekoslav Vuković stated that the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia is developing at a high speed, which is why there is a justified need for such a conference.
“We will discuss innovations, gastro tourism, exploiting additional potential, and in particular the transfer of knowledge and experience of neighboring countries,” said Vuković.
In addition to the representatives of the companies, the conference will also be attended by representatives of the institutions of the two countries, chambers of commerce, development agencies, tourism organizations, and universities.
