SARAJEVO, December 28 (FENA) – FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Djapo presented today in Sarajevo the online platform “safetravels.turizambih.ba” for awarding the “Safe Travels” certificate to companies and organizations in BiH.
It is a label awarded by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), which allows travelers to identify destinations that have adopted global health and hygiene standards related to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as an important prerequisite for safe travel. Bosnia and Herzegovina received the right to use the “Safe Travels” label in March 2021.
Djapo stated that the Council of Ministers, entity governments and the Brčko District Government have adopted protocols that prescribe guidelines and provide guarantees for the protection of health from COVID-19 workers in tourism and tourists themselves.
“The label “Safe Travels” means a much better image of companies, whether they are hotels, travel agencies, guides or any service providers such as museums and the like,” added Djapo.
Director of USAID’s Office of Economic Development in BiH Karl Wurster said they were pleased to help the FBiH Ministry launch an online platform for registering interested organizations.
“When tourists see the label “Safe Travels”, it guarantees that the company adheres to the guidelines and protocols for health protection from COVID-19 in tourism, which were adopted by state institutions,” said Wurster.
