SARAJEVO, June 24 (FENA) – The completion of the project of marking and digital mapping of hiking and mountaineering trails was marked today on Mount Trebević. The project was implemented by the Cantonal Public Institution for protected natural areas as an expert mentor, XTime Agency as the conceptual creator of the project and application solution and Mountain Rescue Service Trebević, Mountaineering Association East Sarajevo and Mountaineering and Skiing Association Trebević Sarajevo.
As part of the project, mapping and physical marking of 44 kilometers of trails on Mount Trebević, five hiking and six walking trails with the appropriate markings, with info totems and billboards and additional resorts have been carried out.
In addition, the maps are available in digital form through the Trebević Outdoor Routs mobile application available free of charge for mobile devices.
Physical markings of trails and applications will now allow hikers and tourisits to move more comfortably and safely on the Olympic mountain, easier to navigate. The application will also provide with information on interesting locations such as mountain lodges, restaurants, accommodation and contacts of the Mountain Rescue Service in case of unforeseen situations.
In addition to the marking, the final phase of the construction of the new Via Ferrata on Bijele stijene with a 30-meter suspension bridge is underway, which will be attractive for both experienced climbers and beginners.
The project was supported by Anja Margetić, Deputy Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, Ognjen Sladoje, Head of the office of the mayor of East Sarajevo, Osman Delić on behalf of the Cantonal Public Institution for protected natural areas and Slavko Bojanić on behalf of the Tourist Board of Jahorina-East Sarajevo.
