More than 1.4 million overnight stays of tourists, mostly from Serbia and UAE

SARAJEVO, October 10 (FENA) – In the period January-August this year, 610,616 tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is an increase of 83.3 percent and they registered 1,471,869 overnight stays, which is an increase of 72.7 percent compared to the same period in 2020.

The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was higher by 48 percent, while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists was higher by 105 percent compared to the same period in 2020.

The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 48.5 percent, while the share of foreign tourists was 51.5 percent.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Serbia (17.4 percent), the United Arab Emirates (15.6 percent), Croatia (9.0 percent), Saudi Arabia (8.0 percent), Germany (5.1 percent) and Kuwait (4.0 percent), for a total of 59.1 percent. Tourists from other countries realized 40.9 percent of overnight stays, according to the BiH Statistics Agency.
