MOSTAR, June 4 (FENA) – The European Union, through the “Amusing Museums” project, supported the creation of a unique tourism offer with a focus on museums in the region of Herzegovina and the cross-border area of Montenegro, in order to promote the region as a multiethnic and culturally diverse European destination.
Over 20 museums and tourism organizations and agencies are participating in creating an offer that will include rural areas.
The goal is to achieve cooperation between museums and travel agencies, based on which the agencies will create specific package deals with a focus on museum visits.
From 1 to 3 June, a visit to museums in Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar and Ljubuški was organized for 12 tourist agencies and workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia, during which the possibilities of cooperation were discussed.
Thanks to the “Amusing Museums” project, a similar visit to Montenegrin museums is expected in the coming period, as well as their promotion.
The project “Amusing Museums” through the cross-border cooperation program Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro is funded by the European Union and jointly implemented by the Association LiNK from Mostar, in cooperation with the National Museum of Montenegro (CG) and the Municipality of Jablanica (BiH).
The total value of the project is around 400,000 euros, of which the European Union is particpating with 300,000 euros.
