SARAJEVO, August 4 (FENA) – The Sarajevo International Airport in 2019 has introduced seven new destinations and these are Riyadh, Gasim, Jeddah, Kuwait, Athens, Berlin, and Gothenburg.
“In addition to the new air links, this year the Swiss International Air Lines and Air Arabia have re-established flights to Zurich and Sharjah, so we have nine new destinations,” told FENA the officials from the Sarajevo International Airport.
Flybosnia is expected to introduce new lines by the end of the year.
“At the moment, we have a confirmation from them that they will introduce direct flights from Sarajevo to London as of September”.
The Sarajevo Airport, they say, is continuously working on introducing new lines, and it is expected that in the coming period the airport would introduce some other lines addition to London, but they say that it is too early to say which destinations exactly.
At the moment, the capital of BiH is connected to a total of 21 cities with direct flights via the Sarajevo International Airport: Ljubljana, Belgrade, Vienna, Zagreb, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dubai, Munich, Stockholm, Istanbul, Zurich, Budapest, Kuwait, Riyadh, Doha, Gasim, Jeddah, Athens, Berlin, Gothenburg and Sharjah.
In 2018, the Sarajevo Airport serviced a total of 1,045,417 passengers.
“In the first half of 2019, we had a total of 457,734 passengers. Given the experience from the past business years, the increased number of tourists and traffic, all show that this year the number of passengers is expected to increase compared to the previous year,” it is stated from the Sarajevo International Airport.
